Kids’ After School Clay Class: Mini Light Up Ghost

Wednesday, October 3rd 4:30-6pm

Age:  8+

We set the age minimum based on the maturity level and fine motor skills both required to follow artistic and safety direction.  We will be using sharp clay tools.

Skill Level:  Beginner/Introductory 

Cost: $25 per kiddo

Medium: wet clay, hand-building, texture rollers, low-fire glaze

This is an instructional class in which our staff artist Ash will provide step-by-step guidance for how to wedge and slab roll wet clay.  Use texture rollers to add embellishment, cut a shape, drape clay over a form, and cut eyes using clay tools.  Kids will then be shown how to make a witch’s hat by forming the shape with their hands.  They may choose to have their ghost look like one of the samples, or do a design of their own.  While the kids have snack, we will do a force dry of their clay so they can finish the class by adding glaze.  We will fire their creations once they’ve completely air dried.  They will be ready for pickup on October 12th.

Included with registration:  Enough clay to make 1 mini ghost, instruction, use of tools, glaze, and firing.  Also included: after school snacks (pretzels, fresh fruit, veggie straws, water or juice box).  Each registrant will also receive 1 battery operated color changing tea light to use under their ghost!

• Choose your texture (We have dozens of shape cutters & textured rollers)
• Fired projects will be ready for pickup by Saturday, October 12th.
