Paint In-Studio

Choose the ceramic piece(s) you want to paint. We have kids’ pottery like banks and figurines, dinnerware (platters, plates and bowls of various sizes), drinkware (cups and mugs), home decor items (planters and vases and such), seasonal items and so much more!

Design your piece using your own creative ideas, or draw inspiration from our in-house painted samples. You can also gather ideas by watching the technique videos on our YouTube channel that runs on the large screen in our studio (or pull it up on your smart phone). Your piece(s) will be available for pick up in 6-12 days. Pickups are always on Saturdays. Pick up date will be noted on the sign displayed on the paint bar as well as at the bottom of your claim ticket. Any staff member will also be able to tell you the current pickup date.

Pick a Piece
Select your ceramics from our wide range of ever evolving stock. Each item is hand priced on the bottom and includes paint, glaze and firing. At any given time of the year, we have over 200 unique items from which to select. Fun fact: at Christmastime, that number nearly doubles!
Pick Your Paints
Visit our paint bar to choose your glaze colors. We have paint pallets in the pull out drawers below the counter. Fill them with your desired colors, and leave the bottles on the bar for everyone to use. Revisit the paint bar as many times as needed to complete your project. Grab a mason jar (also in a pull out drawer), and fill with water to rinse your brushes in between colors. There will be a clean set of brushes waiting for you at your table.
Paint to your heart's content!
Our guests paint on average for about 90 mins. Young children are typically finished in 20 mins. It all just depends on the size of piece you choose and your design. If you put a lot of detail into your design, you're likely going to be at it for awhile. Stay as long as you like!
Off to the Kiln Room
Once you've finished painting, we let your piece dry completely for about a day. Next, we will dip your creation in an overglaze that is made of crushed glass. This is what gives your piece a shiny finish, while also ensuring that it will be food, microwave, dishwasher safe. Lastly - we fire your piece at 1800 degrees in our commercial kiln, for a 24 hour cycle of firing and cool down.
Pick Up Your Artwork
Bring in your yellow claim ticket on or after your pickup date, any time during business hours.
Our staff will grab your finished piece(s). We hold your pieces for 45 days after your pick-up date. Enjoy your masterpiece!
