We are open 7 days a week for painting and coffee.
We take our last painters 1 hour before close each day so please plan accordingly.
We offer a wide selection of ceramics, with hundreds of designs available year-round. As a high-volume studio, our inventory constantly evolves, so we don’t display it online. However, you can click here to see an overview of what we carry, and a generalization of the pricing.
Paint at your own pace! Some take hours, while young kids may finish in 20 minutes. Most adults paint for 1-2 hours. It depends on your piece, design, and detail.
Stay as long as you like! If you are not able to finish in one sitting, no problem. Just pay for your piece, & take it home with a PoGo supply kit or return anytime to complete it in-studio!
We operate on a walk-in basis only—no reservations. Since everyone creates at their own pace, we don’t want set time limits by doing reservations. Keep a few things in mind when planning your visit: we take our last painters one hour before closing, and weekends can be busy with a waitlist. Feel free to call ahead to check availability!
We offer non-toxic paints and glazes of the highest quality. Finished pottery pieces are food safe after firing. They are also “technically” microwave and dishwasher safe. However, we don’t recommend putting them in the latter because the severe temperature changes can cause glaze crackling — and then they are no longer food safe.
Your piece will be ready for pickup in 6-12 days, always on a Saturday. The exact date is posted at the paint bar and on your yellow slip given to you at checkout.
Can’t come back right away? No problem – we will hold onto your piece for 45 days. After that grace period has passed, we do not guarantee that your pieces will be available.

Yes! - Our walk-in business has grown considerably over the past decade. Hosting parties during regular hours got a little crazy, and we felt that the experience for the party clients was being compromised. Because we only want to do something if we can do it well, we made the decision a few years ago to no longer offer parties during regular hours. Therefore, we currently offer large group gatherings after the studio is closed to the public. We currently offer After Hours opportunities. You can rent the studio for 2 hours after close for $50. For this we require a minimum of 15 painters and at least $300 to be spent on ceramics and/or handcrafted beverages. See our events tab to check available dates. Yes! Art & Clay To Go is a creative experience away from the studio. You choose the ceramics, and we will bring everything needed to have a PYOP event at your venue. We go to schools, offices, homes, churches, etc. Contact our Remote Operations/Special Events Coordinator Sam Steele at sam.steele@fairfieldcountyohio.gov, and get the ball rolling!
We only fire ceramics purchased and painted at Art & Clay. Proper storage, glazes, and firing temperatures are crucial to a successful outcome. External pieces pose risks to our kilns, other ceramics, and your piece, so we cannot accept them.
