Kids’ Clay Class – The Coffee Potter

A 2-part class:

Tuesday, July 16th 11am-Noon (wheel throwing)  and  Tuesday, July 23rd 11am-Noon (glazing and barista training)

Age:  10-17

Level of Instruction:   Beginner/Introductory

Back for Summer 2024, this always popular class is a great way to introduce your child to the art of wheel throwing.  The expectation is for them to get a feel for the wheel, and learn the basics of how to pull a cylinder.  Realistically will they make a mug?  No.  The goal is that this is to plant the see of this medium, so they can see if it is something they would like to pursue further with a longer class that offers skill building.  After the wheel instruction in week #1, we will fire what they make.  They will return for week #2 and we will show them glazing the fired piece.  In the second half hour of week #2, your child will go into the coffee house to concoct their own coffee beverage.  After class, we will fire their glazed piece for pick up on or after August 3rd.

Fee: $45/person

Included: Clay, instruction, glazing, use of tools, two kiln firings, and one coffee house beverage of their choice
