High Fire vs Low Fire: One of the main differences between low fire and high fire ceramics is the type of clay used. Low fire ceramics are fired at a lower temperature range (1650°F to 2000°F), using earthenware clay, and tend to have a more delicate texture and porous surface. While high fire ceramics are fired at higher temperatures (2200°F to 2400°F), using stoneware or porcelain clay, which are more durable and water-resistant.
